Concerts

It’s saturday night and I’m hanging out on YouTube & Facebook.. haha

I’ve looked through my clips from the Raphael Saadiq concert that we went to in Copenhagen last April, it was seriously the greatest concert I have ever been to! So personal, so close.. and Raphael and his band were so charismatic and happy and.. good! They came back in after the concert after the lights had been put out and just kept jamming with the audience and really enjoying it.. they really liked us! haha..

Musiq is playing in Copenhagen in February and I would like to go there.. I’ve already seen him live and it was good even though he didn’t even bring a band and he came hours late and played like 45minutes.. so, if the fact wouldn’t have been that Musiq is a musical genius and that the songs bring up the most nostalgic and euphoric memories.. it actually would have sucked.

I don’t know about going this time, I think I will even though my gadget buying, travelling wallet won’t like it.. but when I watch these clips from the Raphael Saadiq concert.. and think about how happy I was and how much fun I had.. I think I will have to. I can make it a birthday present for myself?

That, and a laptop and the weekend in Barcelona and april in Israel and some months in Central America and a new lens for my camera?.. haha

I love it when I’m happy like this, it’s good to be back. :)

Olvidando mi Español

I’m afraid I’m forgetting this beautiful language. Languages are as fragile as they are important, if you don’t practice, they simply fade away. Sure, a month in the right company takes you almost right back to where you were, but if you asked me right now to have a conversation with you in Spanish, I would surely experience big difficulties in expressing and finding the right words.

Of the languages I speak, have spoken and ever made efforts to learn, Spanish is without any doubt my favourite one. Not only is it easy to learn, it flows in a magical way and brings back beautiful memories and associations. It’s a language that really makes me happy whenever I hear it, if it’s from people passing by on the street, a song, a movie or whatever.. and when I get to speak it. It’s like euphoria.

So, I decided that I need to go to a Spanish speaking country very soon. To catch up, to get back to my fluency, not to forget. And I should take classes, like, real language classes.. To get it on paper, to know the language officially. I’m thinking South America. I’m thinking Universidad de Buenos Aires, or some place else. I’m thinking Colombia. I’m thinking internship in Mexico. If not, I’m thinking Barcelona. We’ll see if I manage to find something perfect.

First I have an International Relations master to finish.

Until then, movies in Spanish, books in Spanish.. and a lot of Bebe :)

Sleepyhead

Another good day has passed, I was on an interview for a new part time job that seemed great.. school is good, I managed to send that last assignment in on time ;) and “real” school starts on thursday.. feels great to be studying for real again, when I think about it, the last time I sat on a real lecture in Sweden was before my Erasmus Exchange to Warsaw.. i.e. 2006. Then it has just been thesiswriting and that kind of “boring” stuff.. haha

I love my pictures.. I could just look at them all day and post them here.. I know it’s boring but they’re so great!! Ah, just look at this one.. it’s from the Escadaria Selarón in one of my absolute favourite cities: Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.. and hey, it connects with the video further down..  ;)

So, after finishing the japanese writer Kobo Abe’s – Woman in the Dunes last week I have now put my hands onto yet another Milan Kundera book, I love this guy, he’s great.. and the title of this one is “The book of laughter and forgetting“. Read Kunderas “The unbearable lightness of being” por favor. I wont post a link here.. just read it, it’s a favourite.

Passion Pit are playing live in Copenhagen tonight.. we didn’t go. Youtube can do this for me, and then I’ll return to reading..
