A glimpse of Copenhagen

Here’s a photo I took when walking through Copenhagen recently.

Imagine this, plus super sleek, smart and modern Danish design, the best pastry in the world, streets perfectly suitable for biking, laid-back people in cafés all over the city, ecological and healthy food, green parks, tons of art galleries, and a fashion minded and energetic live music and nightlife scene.

The best city in the world? Possibly.

I absolutely adore this city and I love my friends here. Spent the entire day with Maria yesterday until Leonie joined us after midnight, just like the Cicirella she is. (get it? Cinderella + Cicirello.. haha) and we stayed up talking until 5am.

Today, I visited the UN house, said hi to friends and my old office, had lunch, had catch-up’s and felt extremely nostalgic about the whole thing.

Do you know the little peacekeeper? He has been at Copehagen’s UN House with his owner for a while now and really wants to see Mozambique, so I took him with me across the bridge to Malmö.

And here I am now. In my city. Driving home on the right side of the road. With Wifi. Without a Swedish phone number but with a million errands to run. And friends that I can’t wait seeing. Very busy and very, very happy!

Green Rabbit

So my amazing, sweet, beautiful and killer-smart Maria picked me up from the airport and has just left me to sleep for two hours (which I really need) before we go out to indulge in all the Copenhagenness around here.

Instead of sleeping, I am here in this amazing apartment with designer furniture, strawberry showergel and super gadgets, enjoying the eclectic choice of decoration so much that I instantly decided that I want to live here.

But.. where is the owner of this green little rabbit? :(

Two dancing Guapis

I am feeling a bit guilty for not sharing any photos with you yet from my Easter vacation, but I promise that they are on their way. Until then, I would like to share this old video from when my dear Venezuelan guapi Daneff was visiting me in Copenhagen. On a random morning, we started dancing, playing around. And luckily, we saved this moment that I find hilariously entertaining. Maybe just for myself, but most probably for her as well, so I’m sharing.

Guapi mía, te extraño!

Meditations in an Emergency

Now I am quietly waiting for the catastrophe of my personality
to seem beautiful again, and interesting, and modern.

The country is grey and brown and white in trees,
snows and skies of laughter always diminishing,
less funny not just darker, not just grey.

It may be the coldest day of the year,
what does he think of that?

I mean, what do I?
And if I do, perhaps I am myself again.

Meditations in an Emergency (1957)

We have spent evenings and nights watching the Mad Men series and commenting out loud on little details in everything from cinematography to clothing and the very authentic sets. We are at the second season now and going strong, the last couple of days we have left. Good times indeed, and they will be missed.
