Climbing the Calanques de Sormiou – a beautiful place even more beautiful when seen from above.

Climbing the Calanques

As promised, here are the photos from when Luc and I went out to the Calanques de Sormiou (almost exactly a year later!) for some outdoor rock climbing. I’m really happy I got introduced to this sport, it’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s the perfect amount of scary and challenging. There’s really something about being at the point of “argghh, my toes hurt, I don’t know how to go higher from here, I can’t find a good grip! Also, if I fall I will die.” and then thinking “Ok, I got this, just one more try” then finding good grip and moving higher until you reach the top. And all of this while the sun is setting in the corner of your eye. The Calanques de Sormiou next to Marseille is such a beautiful and inspiring place in itself that you would be happy to just sit and look at it – looking at it while hanging from a rope, with the wind in your hair and having just challenged yourself and climbed a rock – now that’s something special.

Weekend headstands

A video posted by Caroline Bach (@bachcaroline) on

The weekend progress consisted of learning how to make a straight line, and getting both my legs all the way down into a 90 degree angle and up again without falling over or dying. Things that seemed impossible a week ago. Success!

This is so much fun. Even if it’s the result of a limited social life. I’m totally loving my inversions even if my aim (handstands) is totally beyond me right now and lots of work ahead.. but hey, give me a couple of months of me-time and I might be able to gain the strength and do this! The filming really helps as I’m able to identify my mistakes, and share a bit of the adventure. There’s actually a beautiful community of yoga-loving people on Instagram who write messages, share their own progress and give advice and support, it’s so inspiring and lots of fun!

Raw Vegan deliciousness with India Camiel

Cooking with India

Photos from the Raw Vegan cooking class with my favourite chef in Belize City – The gorgeous India Camiel at the Back 2 Live Café in the Bliss Centre for Performing Arts.

My mother, her friend Rose and my friend Nate got an introduction to raw food, and we got to do a delicious juice, a main course and a coconut-blueberry yoghurt for dessert, it was not only a fun learning experience but a great way to share great healthy food and spend some time together. Let me know if you want to contact India for a cooking class, personalised juicing detox programme or just amazing food and I’ll share her details. Thanks for a lovely day, India!

May all beings be happy and free.

Love looking up and reading the quote in the ceiling of the yoga studio while stretching into a pose. It’s exactly why I go for the hot yoga classes on Saturday mornings; to get rid of tensions, breathe in the love, feel as one with all, and find my way to happiness again.

And then my sweet yoga instructor Michelle makes a refreshing and vitamin packed Mango-Ginger-Banana smoothie for me and I’m ready to rock the weekend.

Good morning, namaste.
