Siempre me quedará

Bebe – Siempre Me Quedará

Me guardo tu recuerdo
como el mejor secreto,
que dulce fue tenerte dentro.

Hay un trozo de luz
en esta oscuridad
para prestarme calma.
El tiempo todo calma,
la tempestad y la calma,
el tiempo todo calma,
la tempestad y la calma.

Siempre me quedará
la voz suave del mar,
volver a respirar la lluvia que caerá
sobre este cuerpo y mojará
la flor que crece en mi,
y volver a reír
y cada día un instante volver a pensar en ti.
En la voz suave del mar,
en volver a respirar la lluvia que caerá
sobre este cuerpo y mojará
la flor que crece en mi,
y volver a reír
y cada día un instante volver a pensar en ti.

Yesterday was yet another wonderful day, it’s great how the perfect days are becoming more & more frequent, those bad days I used to have have turned into bad hours instead which I’ve learnt to handle and let pass.. Things are beautiful.

We went to the festival in the evening.. walked around, took some pictures.. bought some freshly baked breadrolls and some juice.. and wandered the city. In folkets park we found a great concert and we danced, danced and danced to reggae, salsa, cumbia and SKA.. it was pure happiness and just great.. and in the end they gave away all their grilled meat with rice as the festival was ending.

So, to sum things up, we walked, talked, danced, had some food, drank our juice, took some pictures.. and danced our way back home.

Goodbye Malmö Festivalen, see you next year!

xin min – a dreamer

I have a Chinese name that my dear friend Lu Zhen gave me when I was in China last year. We sat in our favourite café in beautiful Kunming talking about everything and looking forward to the Korean kimchi sushi next door.. and then she made the name up for me.. and it’s perfect!

So, it’s Meng Xin Min or just Xin Min.. what it means?

xinmin

I love it..

When I went to the town Lijiang a couple of weeks later, I found this hand carved wooden hair stick in a small store. I had the artist carve my Chinese name into it.. and it was beautiful! Unfortunately I lost it some months later.. as hair-sticks have a tendency to dissapear. Today I just use regular pencils to keep my hair in place.. but I’m looking forward to go to China some time again soon, so that I can find that old man in Lijiang.. and ask him to make a hair stick with the tail of phoenix bird for me again.. and of course with my name carved into it.

wrong

After a couple of beautiful and perfect days comes this one..

The weekend has been fantastic, a friend moving to Miami had this years loudest and craziest party where everybody had a great time. We have walked around the city festival, having food and watching different bands.. everybody has been happy and relaxed and everything has been just perfect.

Today things are less fun. Lucky is completely lost in her own world.. she is afraid and worried and just stands still not responding to anything.. if she tries to walk she doesn’t know where she’s going.. she just wants to be close.. sleeping in my lap.

What do you do when you know what needs to be done but it just feels wrong?

Glöm aldrig Srebrenica!

Another day of studying equals another day of procrastinating.

The course I’m doing right now at the University of Queensland is about International Peacekeeping and focuses on the work of the UN around the world.. This picture that I took in Sarajevo fits well into the context: never forget Srebrenica. Moving on is one thing, forgiving another, but forgetting the mothers & daughters left alone after one of the biggest massacres of our time is just a big no-no.

Coraline

Yesterday I watched the 3D stopmotion Coraline..

It was beautifully magical and colourful, and the music.. brilliant!!

If I wouldn’t have known who directed it I would have been completely convinced that this is yet another magical creation by Tim Burton with music by Danny Elfman.. I love them. But no, it’s a Henry Selick movie, the same guy that directed Tim Burtons The Nightmare Before Christmas and the music is by the french composer Bruno Coulais.

The triptic content of the movie made it fantastically interesting and exciting to watch, it was full of the crazy colourful fantasies many of us have had as kids but also worthy the title of a really, really dark nightmare. I wouldn’t show it to really young kids, but kids mostly love to get scared.. and this was just brilliant.. even if you’re an adult.

..next one to watch is one of my childhood favourites All Dogs Go To Heaven.. wathed the beginning of it this morning and just went.. huh?

Just read what the wikipedia has written.. this is the beginning:

In 1939, New Orleans, Charlie B. Barkin,(voiced by Burt Reynolds), a rough-and-tumble German Shepherd mix with a con man’s charm, is working at a casino with his gangster Pit Bull business partner Carface Carruthers (voiced by Vic Tayback). Carface, unwilling to share the earnings, has Charlie locked away at the pound and runs the casino with an iron fist, but with the help of his best friend Itchy (voiced by Dom DeLuise), a nervous Dachshund, he breaks out. Unaware of Carface’s malicious intent, Charlie returns to him expecting open arms, but Carface wants to sever ties with him. To get Charlie out of the picture for good, Carface arranges his death. He takes Charlie out to Mardi Gras, gets him drunk and runs him down with a car, knocking him into the river.

Uhm.. okaay..? And in the video.. is the Alligator a drag-queen?

Whatever.. I loved it then.. will probably hit me how weird and completely unsuitable for kids it is.. but hey, just watch Alice in Wonderland or any childrens movie and you’ll find heaps of complexity and hidden messages that you never expected.
