Barcelona continues

Caroline Bach | February 28, 2010 | 20:52

Barca is still nice, the weather hasn’t been as perfect as day one, but still great. We’ve been walking around, looking at people and places, and hanging out. We visited la sagrada familia yesterday, which was great.. in the evening we went to a really nice club named Espais Actuals where the artist Alex Berned has his exhibition, we danced among his sculptures all night.

Today we went to the Guell Park.. Gaudi must have been a really crazy man.. it’s Tim Burton all over but 100 years earlier and applied on enormous buildings!

I’ll give you 3 pictures.. the rest comes when I’m back in Sweden.

Ciao!

Barcelona!

Caroline Bach | February 26, 2010 | 20:25

Barcelona is wonderful!

The weather is really great, I´m only using my leather jacket, and in the sun I was warm wearing just a tshirt.

Such a perfect break from the neverending studying, working and boring weather in Sweden!

And I get to speak spanish!

Sometimes I really don´t understand why I live in Sweden.

Jump in the line!!

El condor pasa

Caroline Bach | February 25, 2010 | 01:24

La Paz, Bolivia 2008

I did intend to learn it.. I even took classes. I managed learning the basic chords and “el condor pasa” and came to the conclusion that it’s enough.
Look at all the bracelets.. it’s so hilarious – I wasn’t kidding.

I’ll get into that mood sometime again, it’s strange but definitely enjoyable, if only for a short while.

Goodnight.

Ah, found a clip. I love this song.. but nah, I didn’t play it as good as this funny guy.. :)

I have a clip somewhere from the shop where I bought my Charango, I went back there a couple of times and made them play this song for me.. then I got tired of trying when people are watching so I recorded the guy playing, went back to my room and sat down with the video, copying his hands when playing.. just like learning to play the guitar from youtube – but in real life! haha I really had all the time in the world.. :)

Shower

Caroline Bach | February 24, 2010 | 23:31

Sometimes I feel like I would like to stay in the shower forever and let all my responsibilities follow the water down the drain, letting time pass and enjoying the heat of the water slowing down my pulse and calming me down.

After a while my hands turn old and it strikes me that I’m losing time. I would never survive in a state where I let time go by without controlling it. Getting older without creating new memories. My time is what I make of it, and after all these responsibilities follows space that one gets to fill with goodies of preference. Some watch tv, some go shopping, some hang out in pubs, I travel.

Applying that to my current situation; after a whole day of working, reading this book, studying and doing that presentation tomorrow – I’m off to Barcelona.

And all is good :)

Procrastination

Caroline Bach | February 23, 2010 | 10:12

Actually, I dare to say I’m quite cured from procrastination.. I’ve been doing the things I’m supposed to lately. We’ll see for how long :) Enjoy the clip :)

Photoshop cheating

Caroline Bach | February 22, 2010 | 12:52

People sometimes say that using photoshop is cheating. I would say not using photoshop is like writing a book without re-reading and editing it. You simply cannot get everything the way you want straight out of camera, especially not if you’re shooting with a digital compact.

On this particular shot, however, except from just editing levels, contrast and noise.. the taxi was bothering me so much I had to make it dissapear.. it was ruining the whole mysterious feeling around the scene! And yes.. I would say deleting a taxi from a picture could be considered cheating. But I don’t care, it bothered me, it’s my picture, period.

Want to compare shots? Here they are, the original one as taken with my compact Canon IXUS 980is, compared to the processed one :)

Now all of you just pointing and shooting, if you have a touch of nerdyness inside.. get photoshop and start exploring the possibilities!
